...Leaves the sun hot, fast and in solid company. Billions upon trillions of rays merged but slowly diverging. Transversing the emptiness, cooling but still seering hot. Approaches a blue and green orb, strikes an atmosphere and cools further while being stripped of energy. Now slowed, it falls like a warm summer rain, strikes an object and is diffused. Now slow, becoming lonely and getting cold, it slowly moves away. It strikes glass. And again. It passes through layers, being split, focussed and bent until it lands on a sensor...

And there, it is frozen.

Im a photographer based on the east coast of Australia, capturing a range of light bouncing off things such subjects as nature, industrial, people and everyday life. Im expanding my footprint on the internet in a search to find someone to offer me their thoughts on what makes the perfect photo. Offer me your thoughs on anything, just make me think about it.

An antagonist this early in the story?

It is a time of turmoil. But im not unhappy about it, no no. In fact, im quite excited. Things are changing and they look to be moving in good directions.

Firstly, Im leaving my current residence at Coffs Harbour for a sea change (of sorts) in Taree. Ill be moving back home to complete my studies which were going slowly. Despite the obvious ideology of colleges, they are far from the best place in the world to actually study something. Of course, this will not only benefit my studies (which im sure most of you couldnt give two tosses about) but it will, dear reader, enable me three relevant (to my virb and dev art readers) luxuaries. Firstly, it allows me access to better equipment - namely my mothers Canon equipment that just happens to be compatible with mine. Im sure she will, after reading this, become rather less accomodating, but hopefully she will realise that a) Ive gone to great lengths to help her in her way of photography and b) I cant make an effort to clean my room because Im a uni student and messy rooms are part and parcel of the territory. Secondly, being at home allows me access to a car which, for Those Who Don't Know Me, is access to much more traveling my pushbike allows. Finally, and possibly most pertinently to you, dear virb reader, returning home allows me a much more flexible internet connection.

Thus, you can expect that, within a few months, both this gallery, my already developed Deviant Art gallery and my own personal gallery (attached to the quiet revolution group) will reach new levels of refinement. You might also expect that my photography will do the same as ill branch out into new genres and styles.

In particular, Ill be completing a collaborative project with my fiancee on "What the human eye can do" which is a B&W exploration of the HDR techniques. Most of the images will be an attempt to see beyond the dynamic range of both cameras in a single frame AND the human eye, which already has impressive dynamic range. You can already see some works done in this genre in my gallery. Once I get this virb software sorted, I'll have this gallery much more organised. If you know how I can sort my images into galleries and only have a link to each gallery on the front page, Id like to talk to you!

Thus, dear reader, you are now up to date with my happenings. I shall keep you updated.
