Take back the slack

So I looked up the definition of the word 'slacker' - I didn't like what I saw on the Merriam-Webster site,

"slacker." Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary. 2008. Merriam-Webster Online. 2 December 2008

www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/slacker

1: a person who shirks work or obligation ; especially : one who evades military service in time of war

2: a person and especially a young person who is perceived to be disaffected, apathetic, cynical, or lacking ambition

-- slacker adjective

OK, I don't mind #2, but #1 is a bit out of touch, don't you think?

There is also wikipedia's too serious definition. Seriously, psychological trauma and PTSD? Simply because I'm not interested in a mission statement?

So let's build our own definition. What does being a slacker mean to you?

PS I used spell check, previewed this post quite a few times and notice the MLA style I used to cite Merriam-Webster. Slackers aren't apathetic about everything.
