Secret Agent Gel has spent nine years of producing electronic music and more than fifty live performances concentrating on the perfect mix of dance-able and interesting. The biggest influences have been releases from Rephlex, Warp, Planet-mu and underground electronic music from the UK and the internet. His mix of genres got him an album on Opiate Records (2002) and tracks on Recordcamp's "Brooklyn Keeps On Takin' It" compilation (2003) and Badd Inc's first Electroclash compilation (2003). Two tours to Europe and continued shows around the US followed, opening for Funkstorung, Chicks on Speed, Datach'i and many more.
The UK was always an influence, and 2-step riddims started making their way into S.A.Gel's music after playing with Ardisson at Electrowerkz (Warp Records) in London in 2003. Then followed grime and finally, dubstep. The sounds of Loefah, Kode 9, Skream, Vex'd and DJ Pinch took over the Secret Agent Gel studio. In 2006, S.A.Gel culminated his own sound in the dubstep genre, leading to the first EP on Dub War Records, and more than a dozen tunes played on more than two dozen radio shows and stations around the world. Dubs can now be heard regularly on RinseFM, DarkFM, SubFM, Gourmet Beats Radio, and many more. Many of these tracks were released on "No Floor", a digitally released collection of unreleased tunes, out November, 2006.
In 2007, watch for releases on Storming Productions (London), Dub War (NYC) and Trouble and Bass (NYC), a U.K. tour, and collaborations with MC's JuaKali and Warrior Queen.
