This is probably the gazillionth time you've seen something like this. The awkward intro. The entreaties to add as a friend. The whole tawdry song and dance. Oh, the desperation! But here it is again. Now that you're here, let's talk about me. I found out about Virb through MetaFilter.com. I thought the last thing I wanted to involve myself with is yet another social network. Why do I need another when there's MyLiveFaceBookJournalSpace? Setting aside the fact that I do have/use/enjoy my LJ, I was kinda stumped myself. MySpace is a pox wrought by some angry Internet god to smite us heathens. Facebook is... well, I'm really not their target demographic. I won't say much about LJ, other than it's really a different scene than something like this. It's actually my venue of choice, but for more socially-oriented activities, this is the best fit. Oh, how I hate MySpace. Their layout is horrifically broken under Safari. What, are Mac users just supposed to suck it up, Rupert? Yeah, yeah, Camino/Firefox/whatever, but geez. And the spam! And all the crappy bands! Good grief. So. Yeah. You're still here? Why? (add me as a friend!) (I feel dirty for saying that.)
