in the premise of this set there’s a rather simple technical idea, to create an instrument with one oscillator, filter and FX’s, that “sequences” solely by 3 LFO’s. no keyboard attached. while working on it, a second oscillator joined and one basic step sequencer for more rhythmical action.
i used the Ampere Modular macros made by Chet Singer in the Reaktor User Library. An amazing work, inspired by the Nord Modular virtual analog system.
all the sounds in this session created by the different versions of this instrument and mixed down in Ableton Live.
p.s.
for reaktor users, the ensemble (wt “elef-oh”) is not yet ready to be published in the user library, but those who like to give it a test drive can send me a note.

things went lalala lately. the summer. the light. also, as the Jam goes public, it loses much of the roughness around its edges. so it’s just possible that ‘reconn’, a nervous drone, dynamic and very loud, is a one step back to abstract basics.
i realize how un-sexy it is to tell the world how you technically make your art. so i try to do it without really doing it. because writing a little poem alongside the music can be even more pathetic.
i want to say that Kore2 is the best hands-on interface i came across until now. as soon as it’s wired to my favorite instruments, it’s just a dream to perform.
have i mentioned - it does get loud.

yo! another day another upload. you sure didn’t expect that to happen.
i pushed record while giving this new setup a first test drive. mingling on with Terminal Glitch and yet another new resident in the bottomless reaktor library: cirklz, sonictwist’s beautiful granular delay. more of the oriental sound and microtuning experimentations.
not too many hooks, in this agressive session. just plain knob-ride the good old acid way.
excited by the Open Jam on thursday. make sure you’re paying us a visit if living in the area!

long time. in which i have managed to start a band, seeing it breaking apart, having my website wiped out from the server.. and all the way back, as you see, i’m alive and posting.
this one called CaptainZorna after the sound that comes around the 3rd min. that sounded like Zorna (Kurdish instrument?) to me. plus, a little tribute to plastikman, those who know, know
it’s all made with multiple instances of this genius piece of work: “Terminal Glitch”, a reaktor ensemble by Dean Lowe.

i’m sharing a short showcase - crispy remix to the old fmfunk set from February. i will not attend to the next Live user group in Berlin (May 12th) but might be able to stream Live performance of this set from the hotel in Hockenheim . . . !

at the end of the first sunny week of this spring, SubstanceG and my humble self meet Neven Dayvid’s for this Jam. all and all rough and despite bad sound quality i find it pretty and soulful.
i’m posting complete 2 sessions out of the 3 that we made. keeping unity of time.

there wasn’t much to write home about lately. might be the spring or just lack of inspiration. but here’s a new mix of tracks i recorded 4 months ago, after a short visit to detroit, michigan. not the classic live session, yet i found it upload worthy…

sunday noon before lunch time. kick made in corpus, rolls and falters in a triangle tech-ish beat, with more resochord abuse that, as always, ranges between the harmonic and the sonically unbearable.
a 3-part session from one month ago is underway… more info soon.
have a nice week!

as the winter loosens its grip, Substance G comes back to the Jam, brings some self-crafted instrument racks loaded with samples, together with his waldorf pulse, to this tensed, somewhat industrial, as always dark set.

skrewell is yet another genius reaktor job by lazyfish. and now that Live8 (still in beta) is able to save reaktor ensembles inside a rack, some things become easier than they were.. so while preparing to the jam with Neven Dayvid tomorrow (beware!), i tuned up my new skrewell machine and post here a little [...]
FebruaryFeb 9 Friday 09
still last year, i met Neven Dayvid (aka David Jazay) for a session.
we know each other since quite a while and worked together only in our ‘other’, moving-image field.
so we met, got connected and played for about 4 hours, from which David extracted one hour, across four pieces.
to me, this session has a lot of [...]
