The following words are an attempt at clarifying Shane Shu's present existence. Please sit back, breathe in, and let it all hang out.

In the spring of 2006, on a rainy, late Saturday afternoon, Shane met Paul in a music shop. Paul was looking for a hand painted 'super hard-on' fuzz pedal from Z Vex. Shane had it. They drank a few beers, kibitzed and put that fuzz pedal to the test. Shane couldn't help but notice Paul's astounding talent and remarkable taste in music. On a whim, Shane asked Paul if he wanted to join his (non-existent) band. However flattered by Shane's request, Paul had to, for the time being, decline. He was temporarily indisposed.

A few weeks later, in the loo at the Kriterion Cinema Theatre, Shane slowly glanced to his left, as a man does to avoid gutter spray and the putrid smell of urine, and noticed a man of similar height, with red, pork-chopped sideburns. It was Paul again. Having just read the book 'Being In Balance' by DR.Wayne W. Dyer, Shane felt it was a true sign of faith, and without washing his hands, acted on it, and took Paul by the hand, shaking it with the agreement to meet him in his studio the following week.

Shane bicycled home, dumped his Swedish girlfriend, and quickly wrote 5 sketches. These sketches became the rough draft to his current EP.

6 months later, in the Elsevier building, Shane was introduced by Paul to Ujang. A quiet fellow. An engineer. A man who replaces words with technical genius. Paul pointed out to Shane that Ujang was what he needed if he ever had the intention of taking this project out of the studio.

The next day, Shane signed up to Myspace, and under "Band Members" added the following: Ujang- master of the knobs, samples, scratch, turntables. The "band" was slowly taking form.

A few days later, while searching for new and interesting friends on Myspace, Shane came across Catarina. An absolute knock-out with traffic-stopping curves. But not only was she heavenly, she was also incredibly creative. A woman of many languages. After sending her 22 Haiku's to win her trust, he asked her out for a beer. Not ever having heard her sing, Shane once again, out of pure whim, asked Catarina to be a part of his band. And at that very moment, with the words "Yes", the phenomenon SHANE SHU was finally born.
