About
Shannon Stephens is a singer/songwriter located in Seattle, Washington.
She is the former singer and co-songwriter for the Michigan-based band Marzuki, which was comprised of members Matt Haseltine, Sufjan Stevens and Jamie Kempkers. In 1999 she embarked on a solo career, recorded a demo ("How I Got Away") and an album (self-titled), moved to Seattle, and played the scene for several months before burning out on music altogether.
She has now returned to music after several years of pseudo-retirement and is currently recording a new album due out summer 2009.
