Hi, my name is Ivan, i was born in Turin in 1979. I'm a guitarist and I started to play with differents local cover bands when i was 19. I played rock, blues, funk, and also some jazz. It was a good chance to learn different musical languages. In 2003 i had enough of the same covers, same songs, and also same dances, so, i decided to work on my own sound and compositions. Together with Davide and Chiara Onida (Bass and Vocals) And with Gianni Romagnolo (Drums) we formed Guernica 1936, a rock-pop oriented band, but with different influences from noise to jazz and other. We wrote a lot of songs, we played a lot of gigs, we recorded one full-lenght (Scatola Bianca) and a mini Ep, Good reviews, etc. We played together for 4 years then in January 2008 our drummer moved to another city and we closed that project. In February 2008 always with Chiara and Davide Onida and with drummer Luca Pellegrino we started a new project called Barnum come to find us at _www.myspace.com/barnumsoundtrack_ a more experimental band, between rock, ambient, loops and drones. We debuted at Taurus Crash Festival in April, in short time the band received good responses for their live acts. We are currently mixing our first work (Layering). I also started playing both guitar and bass with Violet _www.myspace.com/violettorino_ a rock band from Turin, and i hope to record something with them very soon. In March 2008 always with Luca Pellegrino we started Sun Tzu a duo, just guitar and drums from ambient to hardcore and rock'n'roll. Our first Ep (Scarecrows & Architects) was composed and recorded in less than 3 hours, improvising the songs while recording, to keep the performance more spontaneous check us at _www.myspace.com/suntzuduo_ On february 2008 I had the pleasure to perform as a bassist, for Glenn Branca's Hallucination City, Symphony n 13 at the auditorium parco della musica of Rome with an ensemble of 80 guitars and 20 basses and 1 drum. A very great experience! I've learned a lot of things from director John Myers, Glenn Branca and Virgil Moorefield, and of course from all the musicians that took part from all around the world!
