Hey we are Silent and Cliche. We are an alternative acoustic band from Seattle, Washington that have come together to create a new sound that has been dubbed "Rain Folk". We have been together for about five years and have had multiple concerts with such bands as: Benjamin Bear, Anonamis, Colloquial Mage, Derek Allen, Aureate and Sam Tackman.
There are two of us. Jake and Tanner. We are the 21st century tone - deaf version of Simon and Garfunkel gone Elliott smith. We both write individual songs and some together. More collaboration in writing will probably be taking place on our second album. The best way to get to know us is by listening to our music because we literally digitize our souls in order to make our albums.
Influences: Elliott Smith, Damien Rice, Lou Barlow, Sufjan Stevens, Ben Folds, Ben Harper, Tool, Cursive, Angels of Light and about a thousand other great artists.
Sounds Like: We are kind of putting our electric stuff on hold for the time being and are trying our best to be well thought - out and deeply depressed, intellectual musicians. But our acoustic stuff sounds mostly like the best smelling ear candy you've ever tasted.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
