If you are searching for good noise blended with some great percussion, SKET is that band. From the very first track of this outing they bring out a fresh sound and continue to explore the territories that blur the lines between the subgenres. "Vostock 1" is a good hard noise track with some great frantic percussion, the other two parts of the song have a great tribal percussions blended nicely with the noise. A hard noise track just for the sake of making noise is "Proton-k" seemingly unstructured and frantic as a noise track should be, there are a few of these tracks on the CD. A track that leads you to believe is going to be a good track for backing atmosphere is "Meteor 2-5" but at the right time the tribal-esque percussions kick in blended with the mellow synthline, this track also has some nice breaks in it. A good song for the club is "Tsiklon-3" it has a deep thumping distorted crunchy kick like some of the rhythmic noise acts. The same could be said for "Mir" but in more of the noise oriented club events, it would be too unstructured or tribal feeling for the regular club crowd to enjoy, this song also has good breaks with an interesting sampling technique. "Elektron" starts off like it would also be great for atmosphere, then it kicks in with a good rhythmic noise kick, then breaks gets a little more funky with the percussions, each time you think the song is developing some structure it breaks and changes direction this is a fun track to confuse a dancefloor, "Salyut 6" has the same ideas but with a different direction. A nice track in experimentation is "Sojus 11" it has great percussions and some interesting change ups in it, the breaks are otherworldly sounding this song would go great in a movie like "Saturn 3". Within this CD there are some great tracks for atmosphere all exploring new electronic territory.
