Slackjaw Jezebel is armed with Steven Canvas (Vocals), Matt B (Lead Guitar) and Joshua Higgins (Drums/Percussion) and currently standing in is Gregg Cash (Bass) and Carl Strand (Second Guitar) for an entirely new line up of phenomenally fantastic players now featured on Slackjaw Jezebels upcoming first full length release: Billow Maiden
To create the music SJ is working with renowned producers Robert Eibach and David Longoria through the Alchemy Labs Incubator Project and is being recorded at Del Oro Music Studios. Working hard to get the release out sometime this year while performing in select venues in Southern California starting in September.
Slackjaw Jezebel got its start with Steven Canvas's Old Friends agreed to help him start a project with his music. The result was their EP/demo, MotherMcCreesPuppetShow (download) which was released in early 2005 to great online reviews. Designed to reflect where the band started from in case it ever got anywhere. Stevens friends had their own musical goals to work on and have since moved on but This EP/Demo set the bar high for the staple sound of brooding and grooving alternative rock SJ's growing fans expect from this great live band. Slackjaw Jezebel combines expert musicianship, anathematic lyrics, great harmonies, gut wrenching guitar work and soulful vocals to create what listeners describe as exceptionally fun modern rock music. Look for them in your local music paper or ask for them at your college radio station!
