After finnishing this piece, which originally was composed for a project choir in Berlin ( 1. of July), I thought it would be appropriate to also have a Norwegian performance. Solistkoret, which is one Norway's best choirs, wanted to perform it 17th of May this year. I feel good about them singing this piece; if you've listen to their records or concerts, you can understand my joy about this.
The lyrics are based on a poem by the famous and brilliant Norwegian poet Olav H. Hauge, whose 100th birth anniversary is celebrated this year. If you're in Oslo this particular day (Norways constitution day, one of Norways biggest annual events), come to the venue Parkteatret.
As previous written, the piece is to be performed in Berlin. The marvelous singer/composer Barbara Morgenstern commisioned this piece for an international festival there. I'm really looking to hear this choir sing in a strange Norwegian dialect!
