Hey guys, just a quick update on how things are going here at basic training. in the last six months they have added some to the graduation requirements the biggest of these is the live IV stick, where you must give one of your battle buddys an IV. sounds worse than it is. but the coolest thing we have done is have done so far was learning how to use our gas masks, and testing them i a chamber of CS Gas (basically tear gas). but to prove that there was gas in they made us take the mask off. there are no words to describe how that felt. {he told me that if he ever caught a whiff of it again he would puke} I will be getting a video of it so when i get home i will put it on line. I'll try to have this updated every couple of weeks but i can't make any promises because i may not have time to write and my brother may not have time to post. {i will do my best to post them as quickly as i can} Any letters you can send would be greatly appreciated and if you write me i will write you back. here is the address {again}: PVT Goude, Michael Dco 2-10 IN 495 Iowa Ave Unit 42 FT Leonard Wood MO 65473 and put a BIG "4" on the back thanks alot guys and i'll be back online again in 7 weeks

I am currently Sitting on my rack waiting for a voluntary inspection of my locker. so i shall explain why...earlier today i went down stairs with my bunk buddy (we bunk on the third floor) because my buddy had lost his wall locker key. So we waited for the guy in front of as he said that he was missing $75 and a $2 bill. so we spent 5 minutes listening to the sergeant asking if the guy was sure that he had locked his wall locker. We finally got to ask the sergeant if he had bolt cutters (and got yelled at for it). his answer was in short "not right now." as we were going up stairs,over the intercom we the sergeant telling everyone that they had 15 min. amnesty to turn in the cash before we all went out for PT, until someone confessed. in that time people started pooling $ together to take down to the sergeant so we wouldn't have to do PT. But no one was able to turn in the $2 bill even though people tried (because they sucked at lying.). so we did 30 min of PT. after coming back from filling our canteens we all volunteered to have our lockers searched and thus here i am. {To conclude the story the guy found the money in one of his other pockets. because the guy was an idiot they gave everyone 4 minutes of phone time. i can only imagine what they did to the idiot that night. Mike hasn't told me.}

The Boot Camp Chronicles #1 - The First Day

Did a bunch of stuff... We got PT gear the night before... but the most eventful thing that happened was blood. We all got a TB shot and had some blood drawn.. now they took my blood at MEPS and I did fine so i wasn't worried. well the TB shot was ok but it left me a tad tingly but nothing to worry about..i did fine the last time. so they put the needle for blood in my arm and i watched it start to fill then everything went black. i was having a nice dream (i have no idea what about though) but in the background there was yelling, and it was getting louder... "They were telling him to wake up but he was doing the crappie flop ant then he started to wake up and didn't know where the fuck he was"... as told by my bunk mate who was in the chair next to me. then my eyes opened and there were three specialists in my face, yelling at me to wake up. the first thought that went though my head was "Fuck! why are all of these Army NCO's yelling at me" then " Please let me wake up from this dream and back to reality... oh wait! I am in the Fucking Army!... Oh shit what did I do?!" then my mind wandered to wondering why my nose was dripping and why my chest hurt...oh well. to sum it up after a minute i went out to the "waiting room" and had a good long laugh with one of the guys from the Redlands office...(sigh) and all of this was in the first day.
