We're not the first band to attach ourselves to a message, it's a great tradition in rock n' roll, punk, and hardcore. What I'd like to think though is that we're one of the first to attach ourselves to the cause of forcing media to evolve into this new age. For too long, music lovers have been forced into a model that just doesn't work anymore. Listeners speak up all the time, but it seems no one listens when it comes to labels and artists. We're going to try to change that...
Our main goal is simply to get our music heard. We're more than happy to let you download our music for free. You can download it right from Virb, or get our whole album as a torrent or a zip file. The more people that hear it the better. You may ask, how are we supposed to receive compensation for this? Well here's where we're taking a gamble. Our assumption is that people are generally good. They don't WANT to steal things, they've just been forced into a corner by the music industry trying to lock down their content so much, that the easiest way to get it the way consumers want it, is just to download it. So we've decided that you can pay whatever you feel it's worth. We have a paypal button on our Virb page, with no set amount. Just click, type in the amount you'd like to pay for the album, and then go download the album in whatever format you'd like. And hey, if you don't have any money to spend at the moment, that's fine. Maybe just tell a few friends about us, and our message.
Like I said, this is a bit of a gamble. But even if we make no money at all on this first album, just knowing that people are enjoying the music is good enough for me.
