live at Hoerbar Ausklangs_Festival Hamburg 12/2007 Part I
Heidrun Schramm is a Berlin-based media artist and composer, who works in the fields of electroacoustic music, installation, radio art and video.
In 2002, she initiated her ongoing project Sonata Rec, which is focussed on solo performances. In Sonata Rec concerts, the treatment and combination of improvised and pre-produced sound structures are reffering to the specific space and given atmosphere,
in order to create a unique situation. Everyday objets, like kitchen devices, are often employed, as well as pre-produced video works. Recently, she is developing a series of conceptual installation works, in which her arrangements of abstract and concrete sounds are given a new context; here the compositional
approach is even more spatial, and site specific, than in her solo performances. This includes pure audio installations as well as works employing non-alienated “concrete” video images, that appear highly abstract. She holds a Master of Arts in Sound Studies from the University of Arts, Berlin.
