I am in the process of redesigning sourjayne.com, and am transitioning to a different blog format. Check out the new “Things that confuse me” over at Tumblr. I update much more frequently there, and the posts are usually fairly short.
With a full time job and a lot of side projects up in the air, I haven’t had the time to devote to full-fledged articles here, but I still have plenty of thoughts and observations to share. There are also some really great UX designers writing articles on their own blogs that I think are important to promote.
The Tumblr format makes it easier for me to share links to other articles I find interesting, in addition to writing my own thoughts and observations. I also share quotes, videos, and images I find relevant to the web and experience design.
Eventually, sourjayne.com will get a redesign that will incorporate those posts. I need to switch servers and move some things around, so it’s a process. In the meantime, please check out the new Things That Confuse Me, and if you’re interested, please do subscribe.

An Entirely Other Day: The Days of Miracles and Wonder: An amusing musing by Greg Knauss on what it’d be like if you traveled back in time twenty years or so and had a conversation with yourself about the state of the world today.
“And people are disappointed?”
“They want more.”
“Like the people disappointed with the computer?”
“Yes.”
“So people in 2010 are dicks?”
Reminds me of the Conan interview with comedia Louis CK: “Everything is amazing right now, and nobody’s happy.”
Also reminds me of an article I came across that suggests our generation should really be called Gen D (for Dissatisfied.)
More recently an SF Gate column was published, titled Why are you so terribly disappointing?”
Hey, I was expecting to be blown away. I was expecting miracles and transformations and multiple twitching orgasms on sight. Do not come at me with tantalizing promises only to reveal that you can fulfill most of them to a fairly good degree, and not far exceed all of them in every imaginable way. We’re Americans, goddammit. Ye shall know us by the tang of our bitter and untenable jadedness.
