Lost in the woods
I recently received a strange message from a woman who lost her son in the woods.
He was lost for over a day, and later found bruised, scraped and speechless.
There were several deep wounds on his back similar to large claw marks.
She told me the boy was trying to describe what did this to him,
but the boy didn't know what it was.
"It had long hair all over its body, and it smelled bad", he said.
The boy said he survived as he hid between two rocks near the stream,
as this animal slashed at him continuously, growling and screeching,
like a wolf and an owl combined, was the best description
I could arrive at from her details. The woman's husband and a group of friends
went to the woods where the child lost his way, and best they could they searched for the animal, or whatever it was that did this. They found a small hut-like dome made of branches, twigs and mud, and nearby there was bones, teeth and many skins stretched out on rocks.
They at first figured it was animal skins, but there was no hair on them.
I have heard from people about similar things,
as I have other sites around dealing with subjects like this.
However, this was very close to their homes, in a somewhat populated
area of Michigan, and so there is a good chance they will find more information.
I have never heard of a boy surviving an animal attack that could not be described.
Then there is also the important fact that they found its home, or something's home in the woods,
which can only imply intelligence beyond any bear, wolf or similar animal.
This story contains the textures of myth and legends. Call it a werewolf, ghost, Wendigo, cannibal or Bigfoot, there is something strange in those woods.
I wait to hear more about this.
So, always keep your eyes open, and your candles burning bright.
