Hyjinx has been through more member and style and whatever changes than you can count, so for us, now we get to start fresh. stealing jane is now made up of all original members, and nobody remembers when stealing jane was a ska band...

Trust me, the name choosing process sucks, especially when you already have one, even if everyone in the band hates it, because its so easy to just fall back on what you have. We tried to come up with something better dozens of times throughout our tenure as hyjinx, and always just gave up and sulkingly continued on. We were all embarrassed when someone asked "what's the name of your band"... now we can be much more confident.

One of the best things about this band is the fact that each of it's members comes from a much different musical background. initially, it was very rare that we would find music that we all liked and could listen to together. this is why the first Hyjinx cd is made up of so many different styles. This name is an homage to the first thing that brought us together musically. When we heard "Songs about Jane" by Maroon 5, it was the first time that we all agreed. Now we had common ground, from which to base what we now have as our own, original sound. No, we arent ripping off Maroon 5. We are proud to be able to pay this level of respect to something that had such a profound influence on us. That album was the catalyst that enabled these seven conflicting minds to work together and create something new and powerful and beautiful, that we love to play more than anything and we hope you all enjoy.
