Carey Ott Article from www.discoverrock.com

TV, Film, and Beyond
Carey has been fortunate having "I Wouldn't Do That To You" from the Dualtone Records release of "Lucid Dream" chosen by the Warner TV Group's music producers to be a part of an episode of their new up coming series "Past Life."

This will be the third time the song has been exposed for commercial usage. The others were : Kyle XY, an ABC TV Series. A six month long campaign by JC Penny to re-launch their AZ Jeans Youth brand. Carey's music was the only music heard for six months along with kick ass youth action videos. Soooooo thank you "I Wouldn't Do That To You"!

Next up was a recent mix session with Indianapolis basedNick Vote-Genius Johnson at Carey's Nashville studio early Nov. Directly after those sessions Carey took a week long trip to Road Island to co-produce / arrange and play along with his friend Bohegay Bowes a song that is the featured song of a video project from Sweden. The band members flew in from Sweden with Meat Balls in hand. Good stuff!

Then Boom! He travels to the Great White North, British Columbia, Canada.

Dates in BC include Vancouver, the Okanagan Valley and Whistler Mtn., right at the time of the popular Whistler Film Festival.Amongst this journey he will write and ski with Vancouver performer and recording artist Taylor James. Taylor and Carey have been working on her next release @ Carey's Nashville Studio.

Carey continues to work on his 18 song Human Heart project with Toronto producer Ben Pelchat and Californian, Terry Carleton while at the same time finds time to write or co-write an average of one or two songs a week.

Please check out the E-Card works in progress for a sneak preview of "HUMAN HEART.

Lots more but Less is More and you've only got so much time to look this over.

Acres and Acres, Jon Mckiel

Well we had a busy weekend at the Streaming Cafe with three shows. Thursday night was a success raising over 800 dollars for Free The Children. Louise Kent put on an entertaining show.

On Friday we had Jon-Rae Fletcher, Acres and Acres and Jon Mckiel. Two acts (Acres and Acres, Jon Mckiel) got held up in traffic on their way from Vancouver Island to Kelowna. Jon-Rae very capably took the first set with the other acts arriving mid way through it. After a hasty soundcheck during the break Acres and Acres took it away, very impressively.

It was well worth the wait, Acres and Acres and Jon Mckiel put on a spectacular show for a packed house. The show was so good we've opted to put up three archives (4 songs from every artist) up on our site. check it out.

AND, on Saturday we had the talented indie band from Vancouver, Redgy Blackout. It power packed weekend at the Streaming Cafe.

Here are a few videos and pics from this weekend.

Great Folk Music - Paul O'Brien

This weekend we had a great show on Friday with Paul O'Brien. I knew from the moment I walked into the cafe and saw Paul working up a version of Little Drummer Boy on the boran we were in for a great night of folk music. It only got better at sound check with Paul's exception guitar tone and soothing voice. Paul's songwriting was also excellent throughout the set. A very enjoyable concert.

Cale Stanage - Saturday Night:

You can check out part of both these shows in our Previous Show section.

The Canadian Sound

What a show we had this Saturday at the Streaming Cafe. One of the best yet. Liam and Brent Titcomb packed out the cafe and put on a spell binding performance. All in all it was great music in support of a great organization WarChild.
And after the holiday weekend everybody is back to work. It feels like the summer is over and we're moving quickly in the next season. It's time to trade in your coronas for hopheads and listen to some long winded singers in place of the snappy pop songs of summer. Well at least that's what I'll be doing; just listening to some Matthew Barber.
Liam, during the Saturday show, referenced the audience as being Canadian, doing a Canadian thing listening to Brent Titcomb and his son. And just a little while ago we had Treelines which Rhys Albrecht, the host, called a quintessential Canadian rock band. It's odd talking about music that has a Canadian sound but I think we could say that both Treelines, Matthew Barber, Liam and Breant Titcomb all have a Canadian sound. And that is the kind of sound I want to hear going into the next season.

Mr. Producer.

Liam Titcomb with Brent Titcomb

Well it's been busy at the Streaming Cafe the last couple weeks. Last friday Loren, a folk artist from Australia, put on an amazing concert at the end of his Canadian tour. We are now getting ready to host Liam Titcomb with Brent Titcomb (Lee Harvey Osmond): Two very accomplished musicians playing together in support of WarChild.
I've been listening almost everyday to Rich Terfry on CBC radio 2 drive. He's known as a member of Buck 65 but he's got a knack for putting on a great radio show. He puts together an eclectic mix of indie folk, roots, rock and RnB music. What I like about the show is that Rich often tells you where the artist he's playing are playing live that night all across Canada. I heard Lee Harvey Osmond, a great alt-country band with Brent Titcomb and Tom Wilson (ikons in the Canadian music scene), was playing in Kelowna just down the road from my house. Now Brent's joining Liam Titcomb at the Streaming Cafe.
Check out the show sometime (now on the cbc iphone app around the world) and on the CBC radio 2 weekdays from 330pm to 7pm local time.
Abandin All Hope, a punk band from Fort McMurray, is with us this friday and Liam and Brent Titcomb will put on the show Saturday in benefit of WarChild. It's going to be a great weekend at the Streaming Cafe. All the shows start at 8pm Pacific.
thanks,
Mr. Producer.

David Blair and Treelines

This weekend we had some awesome shows at the cafe. Friday was packed out, spilling on to the street, and Treelines put on a great show. Treelines are a talented group for sure and the audience got a great show. And Treelines were the first to play on our brand new website.

On Saturday we had David Blair with Paisley Jura in their first show together. A collage of styles made for a very interesting show. Check out this cool music for David Blair's song "Hurt So Hard."
He also has some cool video blogs at www.youtube.com/davidblairmusic

David Blair is a great example of an artist who taken advantage of the web 2.0 world. He's got tones of videos on youtube with him covering all kinds of artists and playing his own songs. A great marketing campaign for sure. David Blair's been touring his but off for the last two months and is just about to finish up his tour.
