A day of writing.....I finally did some more writing. Tell me what you think. I am a terrible writer and I spell like a first grader. But if you can get through it i think you might enjoy it. just maybe.

Suburban Implosion ( a working title)

To destroy the lonely suburbanite society which influences every part of our life.
To bring people together in authentic relationships of sharing and community.

When looking at what suburbia is we see a society of loneliness. We live within a society in which we do not speak to those we do not know. We live in a society where we don’t share because of our distrust and fear which lurks within our souls. Suburban Implosion seeks to end this disconnectedness to seek for a community among the humanity which is around us. It seeks to rid us of the fear which resides in our society. Fear of the unknown.

People are increasingly busy, isolated, lonely, disconnected, and without any helpful solutions in the culture. The isolation is now so entrenched that many people don’t know how to practice hospitality. This trend is even reflected in new architecture, which replaces large dining and living rooms designed for human contact with walk in closets, home offices, and personal entertainment rooms. Here lonely people can watch sitcoms about friendships and reality-based shows in which characters pretend to interact with human beings, a thing apparently fascinating and foreign to many lonely, isolated individuals.

Living alone, driving alone, eating alone, sleeping alone, having sex alone, and working alone make many people so depressed that they cope with the assistance of medication rather than human contact. Some however seek out human connection through groups, as 40 percent of all Americans are now in some form of group (Sunday schools, support groups, writing groups, self improvement groups, cause-oriented groups, therapy groups, writing groups, civic-betterment group, recovery groups, weight loss groups, literary groups), because they are dying of loneliness particularly if they are single and even more so if they are divorced.

Through our action as pilgrims in this movement we can change this society and transform it into something completely different. Through our active efforts of hospitality and activism we will revive the suburbs and change this society of solitude into thriving communities that are fueled by creative movements. Anything creative is welcome to be submitted to the suburban implosion movement.
