I started a low carb type diet just yesterday and it's already killing me. I got breakfast at McD's today between classes. An Egg McMuffin w/o the top muffin part was all I got. You gotta get up early, fight the traffic, get to class, and take tests all for a simple piece of paper. Is it really worth it? Uh, yeah! Why? Because that piece of paper can often be the deciding factor of where the path of your life will lead. Without education we're doomed. But you already know that.

Have we humans been reduced to animals? Take these two nymphomaniacs who apparently could not keep from trying to get it on while their plane made a stop in Phoenix. Come on people! We're supposed to be somewhat civilized, not acting on all impulses like wild baboons. Talk about inappropriate.

I want to take a moment here to say shame on the Marine Reserves for rejecting 4,000 talking Jesus dolls that quote Bible verses in the Toys for Tots program. Apparently poverty is a bigger issue for the needy than the saving of their souls. What a travesty!

Darkness to Light

Well. It's about 4 o' clock in the morning. I guess I can still call it night because it's still dark, and I haven't been to sleep yet. I always feel so tired by the time the light comes back. Why do I do this to myself? I don't know, I guess it's just the idea of being up by myself watching movies or TV without others talking, moving around, or some other form of interruption. It is especially nice to watch movies that I wouldn't normally see if I weren't up at this time, or if I wasn't the only one watching the TV because others sometimes complain about the shows and movies I want to watch. Apparently some people don't like City Confidential, Body of Evidence, or even Kill Bill, but they don't complain about CSI, Criminal Minds, or Hostage. Many of these show have similar plots and the same subject matter, but I guess there's some sort of difference to some viewers. I say it's all interesting and it's all good. But I just might be outvoted, so I'll keep staying up at night, and keep being tired in the morning. At least I don't have school today!

Wow! I can't believe I slept all day. I went to bed after my last post and woke up less than 30 minutes ago. Is there a such thing as too much sleep? I don't know, but it sure can make you miss out on the stuff that happened that day.

So I got an email forwarded to me from God knows where about Walmart giving money to a homosexual group to promote equality in the workplace, and some people are up in arms about it, wanting to boycott the store. Is this really a big deal? I do not believe in homosexuality, but as far as equality in the workplace is concerned, I don't see what's wrong with that. I don't see how being gay would really prevent someone from performing a job just as well as a heterosexual person.

Now I understand that some heterosexuals are "homophobic" or they can't stand to deal with homosexuals but if that's the case, they can quit or suck it up. Nobody is forcing them to stay in that job. Although, they might have trouble finding a job that doesn't have anybody they don't like to be around, whether gay or straight.

My view is, if Walmart wants to give money to any group, what say do I or anyone else in the public have to do with it. It's their company, not ours. So if they want to boycott, let them. More bargains for the rest of us.

This is ridiculous. O.J. Simpson slapped Fred Goldman, his family, and the American legal system right in the face. "If I Did It," the now canceled book by Simpson reportedly detailed what O.J. "would have" done "if" he were to have killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. I'm am shocked and dismayed at this display of nonchalance about a bloody double murder. I do understand that O.J. was acquitted and cannot be tried again, but he was successfully sued for 33.5 million dollars by Fred Goldman, although Simpson never paid it. Whatever happened, if he committed murder or he didn't commit murder, a person should never write a book like this. Poor taste doesn't even begin to describe it. But you know, the way the media is today, I don't know why I'm surprised. Blood, gore, sex, and scandal; any of those words or subjects are an automatic front page story. Anything for profit. Now don't get me wrong, I like money. I don't believe money is the root of all evil, and the Bible doesn't say so. But the love of money is the root of all evil according to the Bible, and I believe it. I see this book as just another way to make money for O.J. Simpson and the publishers. But hey, why would the publishers care, all the blame and bad publicity was going on Simpson anyway because so many people believe he got away with murder. You know what, it doesn't matter. Wherever O.J. Simpson is right now, he's smiling.

Kramer vs. Kramer

Okay, Mr. Richards made a bad mistake. I'm not sure if his career can recover after this, but hey, that's not up to me. Now although the language he used is always unnecessary, it is clear Richards was out of control with rage. Anyone has to admit that by just looking at someone, the most obvious traits of others usually stem from their race, such as skin color or hair type. The hecklers would obviously know about Richards, being that he's famous, but all he could probably know about them is that they were black. This is absolutely no excuse, but in that situation, it seems like that was the quickest way he felt he could retaliate. If he were calmer, maybe he would have thought a little longer before shouting "that trash," as he called it. But in stand up, you don't really have that kind of time. So while it's not ever ok, I don't think it should be considered a hate crime or otherwise. Why people thought they were going to see "Kramer," I don't know. Kramer is just a character, Michael Richards is the man. Yet, I don't think they saw him either. Whoever they saw was not the Michael Richards I know.

I decided not to write anything yesterday because It was a family day, and nobody would be reading it anyway. Today is a day of shopping and many won't be home to read this, so I'll be brief.

Thanksgiving is just that, a day for giving thanks. Turkey is what we're told was eaten on the first Thanksgiving day, but why? Why must we always eat turkey? Surely there are other foods just as good. Now being on a diet, I could not eat anything but turkey in this feast. I do believe now that no other food, whether cow, pig, or some other bird, would be the same for Thanksgiving.

So why do we eat turkey? We just do! It includes Morgan Freeman, Danny Devito, and Peter Bogdanovich.

People can preview it at cstar.com

I think this sounds great. It's about time that someone with any fame had initiative and didn't look at the media industries as the enemy of the consumers. The music industry already made that mistake, and perhaps some people in the film industry would prefer not to do the same. The RIAA and such goes after those who break copyrights on music that has been out for many years, and the music has spread like a virus. They should have focused on limiting access to the music not yet released, and making it so new music couldn't be shared, if they wanted it not to be shared. But of course, if the music doesn't spread then nobody hears it. If nobody hears it, then nobody buys it, and that's the industry's goal, for people to buy it. So instead, they made people want to break copyrights, and in essence, screwed themselves.

I'm sure by now you've heard about this. Pornaments! Come on! How can they get away with this? I can't believe Spencer's was surprised by the outrage and protesting. What did they think the reaction would be? It is a sad and sorry place this world has become when people would think that this type of thing is acceptable in the mainstream. The seedy parts of our world has been trying to become much more mainstream in recent years with porn, sex clubs, prostitution, drugs, drinking, swingers, BDSM, cutting, etc.

So it's about time people say enough is enough.

What do these things say about Christmas? That it's just another American tradition? That's not what Christmas is about! Christmas is about the birth of Jesus. Oh, yeah, and it's Christmas. It's not X-Mas! This crap that they're selling is just disgusting, and it says so many negative things about our culture. So stay away from this crap!

How could a person do something so stupid? What kind of mother is she? I'm talking about the woman who, early on Saturday, December 16th, put her baby through an LAX x-ray machine. I would ask what she was thinking, but clearly she wasn't. Luckily, the poor child doesn't appear to have been hurt, but that's not really the point. There are just so many stupid people out in the world, and it seems like they're somehow living longer than many expected. Seriously, there are several people the I expected to be dead by now, simply because I expected them to do something stupid enough that it would cost them their life. Now don't get me wrong, I don't wish these people harm or death. It's just that I don't expect too many wise choices coming from them. Now what this woman did could just be a simple mistake, but if it wasn't, then what's next? I don't know if I want to live in world where this behavior is the norm. No, scratch that. I don't want to live in a world where that behavior is the norm.

Hello again! Hello? Is there anyone out there? I guess not. I know I haven't written for a long time. Not that anyone ever read this thing, well, except one person (Hi mom). Maybe I can change that, though I doubt it.

I'm going to change this blog into a movie review site. I'll do the viewing and reviewing, you do the reading. Now, we both have something to do. Along with changing format I'll probably change the name and address of this place, so look out for those details soon.

Peace!
