Tommy C started making music at the age of 13, playing guitar in punk metal bands at school. By 16, he had given up the guitar in exchange for a computer music package, consisting of sequencer, synthesiser and drum machines. He started making dance music, now more influenced by Drum n Bass, Breaks and Dub, as well as the Punk and Metal influences from early teenage life.
At the age of 18 Tommy C teamed up with Multi Instrumentalist, Doorbell and Sonic Wreck Creation was born. This resulted in a blend of hectic D'n'B breaks, Dubby basslines, Thrashing guitars and Industrial samples.
The first two EP's experimented with Dub Reggae, Heavy Metal and Hip Hop, using live instruments, along side heavy breakbeats and samples, to create new styles of Jungle and Drum n Bass.
The most recent project for SWC, Monkey Magik, which Tommy C produced entirely on his own, is more of an electronica project, experimenting with more glitchy breaks, heavier drops and less live instrumentation than the previous work.
More recently, Tommy C has gone on to produce and album collaborating various artists in more of a downbeat style, known as Last Daze. Check www.virb.com/lastdaze for more information on recent projects.
