Switchvert was started in 2003 by Joel Clark and Nicholas Costaras.
Switchvert is not your average ideas/production house. Our work literally crosses the globe with projects in the last two years spanning 5 continents. With studios in Washington DC and Johannesburg South Africa, Switchvert is perfectly stationed to tackle productions anywhere.
Over the past few years we have focused on commercials, documentaries and television programming. Our work is as diverse as it sounds. In South Africa we have worked on both sitcom and magazine TV programs, bringing each show to a primetime audience. Our documentaries were shot in Antarctica, Haiti, South America, the US and sub-Saharan Africa. We have also shot over 40 commercials with USAID in Nigeria, Zambia, and Haiti.
Yet the work that is most meaningful to us is that, which wasn’t necessarily commissioned by a specific client. Switchvert has financed, written, produced and sold numerous films and “products” that we created simply because we believed in them. From Surrendered & Untamed to The Middle of Nowhere, we found stories that not only spoke to us, but could also be translated to the screen, enabling us to bring them to the world.
And this is what sets Switchvert a part. Understanding that STORY IS EVERYTHING allows us to take any product or message to the broadest possible audience.
