Hello wonderful world of blogosphere. So far I have chapter 1 of the Irresistible Revolution blogged about and that was roughly a week ago. Yeah, doesn't seem like a whole lot of progress. But rest assured fellow bloggers that I have continued reading. The lack of …

When Christianity Was Still Safe

Beginnings are so nice.

I like starting things. Given, it's never easy to follow through and finish these things, but the enjoyment and satisfaction seems to make the feat all worthwhile. Last night I went to my local Barnes&Noble and picked up a copy of a book titled "The Irresistible …

Ah, I didn't mean to say he was a trickster or anytihing like that. I'm trying to get ahold of his book... need to stop by borders sometime. I'm just saying that I think the enemy finds it hilarious when we 'commit' ourselves to something half heartedly... and we drop it soon after.

And yeah... the highs and lows... I'm totally with you on that one. You can check out stuff on that in C.S. Lewis's Screwtape Letters... they talk about crests and troughs, and how God is most honored by you when you are at the lowest point in your life, and without God in plain sight, you cry out to Him and obey Him regardless. The problems I'm talking about with the highs is that people expect to float along on those constantly... and when they hit bottom, they're struck with feelings of abandonment, not realizing that God is with them all along, ready to scoop them up again. Hitting the low spots makes you appreciate the high spots all the more.

And you hit one of many things that bothers me about christians today... they begin idolizing writers and singers and leaders... and they just need to realize that God is working through these folks. good for you, my man.
