Takin' it to the Streets

"bridging the gap through music"

Established Jan 2007

About

Takin' it to the Streets is a series of concerts over the next seven months at seven different venues. These concerts will each feature at least seven Praise & Worship bands from area churches. Never before in the history of this city have all the churches come together in venues like this. What we are asking of you is to reach out and invite your friends to one of these events. This is a unique opportunity to share Christ's love to one another. Jesus wants us to take it, Christ's love, to the streets. Takin' it to the Streets does not want to throw religion in anyone's face, but to bridge the gap between believers and non-believers through music. If they won't come to us, then let us go to them. If even one person came to know Jesus by any one of these events - then it would all be worth it.

What a phenomenal and totally 1st century concept:: to use the universal language of music to meet people where they ARE. We appreciate all that you and those working with you are doing, Mark. Great to meet you back in the fall. We look forward to the privilege of participating in Takin' It To The Streets '08. Stu, Tim B, Dan and Tim S... the Water's Edge guys

The band and fans of the band of Edwardsville United Methodist (Exit 118) would like to thank you for inviting us to Phoenix Hill this Sunday. It totally rocked! And isn't that how to build your Christian foundation is on the solid rock of Christ? We played last up on the roof top garden and it was spectacular to say the least. Please consider us for your next event. The name of our band is Exit 118. If you were there on Sunday and liked what you heard, join us every Sunday at 11am and start your week with praising the Lord!

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!
