Talkback Radio (formerly Rob Rhodes & The Farewell Coalition) are a power-trio born out of the Sydney cover band scene. Their style is influenced by varied Rock, Pop, Funk and Soul ingredients that have been fused into a Melodic Rock Soup.
Formed in 2005, the members of Talkback Radio
(Rob Rhodes vox/guitar, Garry Daglish vox/bass and Jerry Papadakis drums)
went about writing songs for what would be their 2006 independent release ‘Hollywood Hills’. The EP which was recorded with Producer Peter ‘Reggie’ Bowman (Tommy Emmanuel, Southern Sons, Pre-Shrunk), contains five tracks that were recorded in just two days.
2006 saw Talkback Radio (then RR&TFC) hit the road with select showcase gigs around Sydney in support of ‘Hollywood Hills’. These gigs were extremely well received and have set the band up for a 2007 onslaught. Further to that, 2007 will bring a full-length live CD/DVD from the boys in the second half of the year.
The phenomenon that is Myspace has really helped Talkback Radio gain exposure in all quarters. With a feature on Allrightnow.com (USA) as well as a radio interview and regular rotation on Tynefm’s playlist (UK), Talkback Radio are expanding into all corners of the globe.
