I noticed today that my 3 favorite artists have beards. Sage Francis has had a killer beard in the past and always had crazy facial hair. William Fitzsimmons represents with a beard fo' sho. Sherwood's lead guitarist and drummer have solid beards.
What does this mean to you aspiring musicians out there? Get a beard if you want to be taken seriously. From hip hop to folk to indie pop- beards are always acceptable.
Scott and I have beards off and on too. Why? We want The Art Project to be taken seriously. I am growing mine out really big right now. Why? I want TAP to be taken REALLY seriously. Done. And possibly releasing a EP too. Not really.
