Tawny Cox is a singer/songwriter currently located in Nashvile, TN. Tawny, originally from Miami, Florida, where she attended the University of Miami's Jazz vocal program, has been in Nashville since she graduated from Belmont University. Currently pursuing her career in music, she has just released her first full-length album. This album demonstrates the different styles and genres Tawny is experimenting with but ties all of the songs together with her melodies and disticnt vocal quality. She is influenced by her love and appreciation for anything British and Scandanavian (Mew, Beatles, Radiohead, Feist) but is also highly imprinted by her training in jazz voice from her time spent at the University of Miami. Her appreciation of American roots music and songwriting has also left a mark in her sound. Writers such as Nick Drake, Elliot Smith and Joni Mitchell definitely impact her songwriting style. Though she is influenced by these individuals, she retains a quality to her writing that is distinctly her own. We hope you enjoy listening and tell others about this artist!!! Thanks!

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know."
Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!
