Hey Internets,
I've tried to convince my kids and my wife to cross-over from the darkside, aka myspace, to VIRB. But it seems they've become so accustomed to bad code, poor layouts and just plain 'ol bad design, that they don't really see the benefit of changing to another site. I mean all their friends are on myspace, even their grandmother has a myspace account. Now I hear that some bands are using myspace as their main website.
Has myspace become like Yahoo in that, its the first page your browser loads up? Is it just too hard change or are they just too lazy? I don't yahoo stuff, even though yahoo is my chosen homepage. I prefer to google stuff. GMAIL is my prefered email service, I have a flickr page but not many people I talk to have a flickr account or even know what a flickr is. I have a pownce account, I twitter several times a day, I prefer Adium over the normal instant messenger app. So does that mean that I not like that average user/consumer? Does that mean that I'm above average? or am I below average and just don't know it...yet?
I was browsing thru my flickr account this morning and saw that you can blog about pictures you looking at, but VIRB was not on the list of current blogs available. In my opinion I think that stinks. I'd like to see more about VIRB in the media, but I curious, have we become so overloaded by social networking that it won't have a chance against other blogging services? Anyways, thats my rant for today.
