I sold an item on ebay last night, so this morning I received address confirmation from ebay. I never realized that when someone sends and address in the body of the email, OS X mail highlights the address and provides a drop down arrow to allow you to, create a new contacts, add that address to your contacts or link out safari to view the address in google maps. That freekin rocks!!! I just wanted to make sure it wasn't to some parking lot somewhere, man that is so cool.
Apple has again, provided another reason for me to like OS X so much. It may not be some huge, global, life changing event in my using of OS X, but user experience is the key with any OS. It may not draw another person per se, but when I explain why I like OS X so much to some person who is thinking about buying their first mac, this is another positive reason I can provide in our conversation. By the way, BEST BUY, you owe me commission on a sale of a black macbook. I was was within earshot of a conversation this kid was having with the "sales person" @ Best Buy. He obviously did not know anything about macs at all, so I spoke up and gave my reasons for liking my macbook so much and how long I'd been using a mac, long story short. He bought a black macbook!
I don't see or hear very many people providing positive experiences with Windows Vista. I hear allot of reasons to NOT buy it or use it. I'm not saying that their aren't problems within OS X, but so far, I've not found anything that makes me want to go back to using mac OS 9, .i.e. installing XP on a brand new "Vista Ready" machine.
Later all,
TB
