I'm sick and tired of choosing "the lesser of two evils". Why is it that America is one of the only countries that does not have more political parties that actually have any sway in government? America has one political party, it doesn't matter who you vote for, all the politicians are going to be just as corrupt, and the only thing you are guaranteed is to have you interests held below that of Big Business.

At what point in time did we become so apathetic? How did we let things get to this point? We Know For A Fact that Bush and his cronies lied to us about Iraq, we Know For A Fact that we have had our phone calls illegally tapped by a government agency (which Bush approved and adamantly supported), we Know For A Fact that prisoners are being held in secret prisons (Gitmo is one of many), without the right to habeas corpus, who are tortured (and we all know this leads to false information). We Know For A Fact that the government used a Massive amount of propaganda to garner support for the war in Iraq (think Jessica Lynch).

...So why does nobody do anything?

Why is Bush and his cronies not being tried for war crimes and hanged? I personally blame the television and the internet. The television has become nothing more than another method of indoctrination and distraction; the internet is just as bad (though it can be used for good). Maybe, even more so than television, materialism has got us caught up in even more things that don't matter; buy this, buy that, 25% off! You need this, you need that, now for the low price of only $99 your soul. We can hardly go anywhere without being assaulted by a barrage of advertisements and propaganda, and at this point in time, it doesn't really matter what Bush does, because people are too lazy to get off their fat-laden asses and do anything...but nevermind the thousands dead, or the war crimes being committed, Paris Hilton on the other hand, must be brought to justice! Paris Hilton is a wonderful example of what television does to people, it gets priorities mixed up, unfortunately it does have a negative impact on an otherwise level-headed and intelligent individual.
