The NME writes:
The singer is in battle with the company for trademark infringement of her Harajuku Lovers fashion line. She claims that the clothing chain stole designs from her label.
In papers filed in Los Angeles Federal Court yesterday (July 17) representatives for Stefanis's Harajuku Lvoers claim Forever 21 is marketing, promoting and selling products featuring a design "virtually indistinguishable" from Harajuku's signature heart/box logo.
The lawsuit claims Forever 21 "changed a couple of words in the Heart Box trademark which are inconspicuous and likely to go unnoticed by a consumer".
Specifically, the lawsuit claims Forever 21 used the design but changed the word 'Harajuku' to 'Forever' and the word 'Lovers' to 'Love'.
Stefani is currently on a tour that's taking her all over the goddamn place in Europe, Asia and Australia, and is rumored to be working with her boys in No Doubt on some new material as well. We guess she filed papers in absentia. Obviously, the Harajuku girls are creepy enough to be in two places at once, but we don't Gwen could be.
