Sorry about the last post. It had a ton of funky characters where the apostrophes should have been. It should be fixed by now...
Amy and I had a wonderful time by ouselves last week. Of course, we went to Biltmore, but we also got to do a lot when we got back to Goldsboro. Sometimes just walking around Target by yourselves is a blessing. We checked out a concert on Wednesday evening at the Lord's Table to hear "Vern" Harkins from "Community Gateway Church" play keys for another friend in the ministry. Thursday night we took in the third Pirates of the Caribbean flick. He may be weird to a lot of people, but I think it's safe to say that Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow will be a cultural icon for years to come. On Friday afternoon, we went with Anne and Vernon to the Harvest Crusade in Raleigh. I was glad to see Greg Laurie and Andrae Crouch, but, truth be told, the main reason I went to the Crusade was to see the David Crowder Band. Well, Amy says its hard to go to Raleigh without stopping at "The Cheesecake Factory," so we stopped in for dinner. As we walked to our table, Vernon and I noticed a skinny guy with big hair and rectangular glasses in a green ATARI T-Shirt. It was David Crowder! We went to tell the girls (who of course didn't believe us), and by the time we got back, he was gone. Later on that evening, the same David Crowder wearing the same green T-Shirt rocked the RBC Center. Vernon and I should have just gone up to him, and have let Amy and Anne come up on their own. File that under "coulda, shoulda, woulda."
Now don't get me wrong... it was nice to spend time away from the girls with just Amy, but after a while we began to miss Julia, Bailey, Madi, and Avery. Call me sentimental or whatever you want, I just like it when they're home. Just knowing they're sleeping in their rooms at night makes me rest better. I knew we'd be glad to see them again this past Saturday, and we were!
I'll tell you some more tomorrow.
