"Yo ho! Yo ho! A pirate's life for me!" I bet you didn't know that tomorrow, September 19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. People everywhere will refer to their best friends as "me hearties" or "scurvy dogs," make turns to "port and starboard," designate their earnings as "booty," yell "avast" for no reason, and subconsciously growl, "arghhh" when displeased. It's all a part of what devotees call "Pirattitude."

I wonder what it would be like if we talked with "pirattitude" at Gateway. Maybe we should try it. I think I'll get up Sunday, and say, "The drums be a mite soft, Mr. Harkins. Hows about we turn 'em up before I send your soul to Davey Jones' locker! Savvy? Arghh!"

I suppose all will be fine as long as we don't refer to the women as "wenches!" Anyway, Happy TLAPD! YO HO!
