Church of Broken Hearts

One of the greatest moments in my life happened this past Sunday--one of those kind of moments you never forget. It was my privilege to see a congregation full of broken hearts. Before some of you begin to think I'm some kind of sadistic soul who takes pleasure in someone else's pain, let me explain. I saw hearts that were genuinely broken for those around them who are separated from Christ.

Now, I've been in many settings where people claimed to be concerned about those who have yet to find peace in the God who created them, loved them, and gave His Son for them. The difference between those settings and this past Sunday is simple. It wasn't just words. Tears were free-flowing for those friends, neighbors, family members, co-workers, and fellow students who are trapped in the consequences of poor decisions, in poor relationships, in the clutches of pride and greed, in addictions, in unrealistic images, and in the depths of despair. I'm praying that these tears will translate into whatever it takes to introduce those who are farthest from the Father to the only One Who can bring them home - Jesus Christ!

He alone can deliver from the chains that bind our hearts to darkness, meaningless, and hopelessness. Lookin' for deliverance, or know some who need it themselves? Check us out this month!

- Peace!
