Lesson on a ketchup bottle...

Many of us know what it's like to have a kid who puts ketchup on just about everything... My oldest daughter, Julia, is that kid.

Well, the other day, I happened to notice the back label on a bottle of Heinz Ketchup and discovered one of the most awesome quotes I've ever read. "To do a common thing uncommonly well brings success." The quote was attributed to Henry John Heinz (1844-1919), the founder of the HJ Heinz Company.

Now there's a lot packed into those 9 words. But, pay attention to this, it doesn't address what you do - it's about how well you do it. You see Heinz hit upon something that all of us need to be reminded of from time to time -- find your purpose; then, throw all of your time, resources, future into becoming the best at what you're called to be. For Heinz, it was about expanding upon his belief that he could make the best food sauces in the world. He found his niche, his purpose, and we remember him for it today.

What does this have to do with you as a Christ Follower? Check back tomorrow...
