Oh well, one more trip to the IKEA restaurant before heading home to Goldsboro. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. The attention to detail is absolutely amazing. Churches could and should learn a lot from their approach to service. More about that in a later post
One thing I haven't mentioned yet is the book I brought along on the trip--Flyboys by James Bradley. Bradley takes the tragic stories of several U.S. airmen who were shot down on Chichi Jima by Japanese forces and fits them into the broader context of World War II in the Pacific. His book is a potent reminder of total human depravity, which becomes so pervasively evident on both sides during war. I would encourage you all to pick it up.
I'm really looking forward to sleeping in Goldsboro tonight. Props to Amy's parents, Bruce and Judy, and my parents, Bill and Janice, for taking care of the girls!
