Thoughts....

We had an awesome weekend at GCC. Let me recap it for you...

Friday and Saturday, GCC offered Joe Sangl's Financial Freedom Experience (FFE). In total, we had more than 40 households present for the two-day event. Joe had some awesome things to tell us about structuring (or restructuring) our lives to do what we were placed on earth to do. We had a few extra copies of Joe's book, I Was Broke, Now I'm Not, but we sold out yesterday morning. If you were not able to attend FFE but want to know what Joe's crusade is all about, his book is a great place to start. You can preview and purchase the book, check out the website tools, and read his blog at "that wildly popular website known as www.joesangl.com."

Sunday, we talked about the "original" Peace Corps. No, not the one established by the U.S. government during the Kennedy administration - the original one. If you are a Christ Follower, you are a part of God's plan to deliver the "gospel of peace." You have been uniquely gifted to play a part in that delivery system. Everyone has a role and no one role is more important than another. If we function together, each doing our God-given roles, we can and will bring God's message of peace to a messed-up world. "Peace Corps" continues next week at GCC.

One more thing, I was walking through Wal-Mart today, I couldn't help but feel a little funny. I had to walk pretty slowly to take it all in. You see I was there to buy something for the church, and you'll never be able to guess what it is. Don't worry you won't have to... The students will see it on Wednesday; the rest of you will see it on Sunday. And don't worry, when you see it, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about...

'til tomorrow!
