Last Sunday, we challenged the people at Gateway Community Church to join the real "Peace Corps" and do their part in carrying the "gospel of peace" to the world around them. Because God has gifted us in unique ways, we can each make a distinct contribution to that effort.
Always remember, everyone is uniquely gifted to do his/her part in delivering the "gospel of peace." In fact, we're a lot like puzzle pieces. No one piece is more important than the other. Each piece contributes a vital part to the whole. When one piece is missing, there is a notable void. But when the pieces come together the way they are intended to come together, the result speaks for itself!
To illustrate that fact, we passed out puzzle pieces to everyone in the auditorium at both services. We asked them to write their names and to either let us know about their piece to the puzzle, or, if they didn't know what piece they could offer, to write, "No Clue." Today, our staff began going through those pieces. For those that are already serving, we'll send out a huge thanks for doing their part in the work of the original "Peace Corps." For those that are telling us for the first time about their specific piece to the puzzle, we'll get them plugged in to do that part in the "Peace Corps." For those that wrote "No Clue," we'll work together with them to find their piece to the puzzle so that they can began doing their part in the "Peace Corps." When we're all doing our part, the result for God's kingdom will speak for itself!
If you missed this past week, don't worry. You'll have your opportunity with the puzzle pieces again this Sunday. For those that turned in a puzzle piece this week, you're gonna see your pieces again real soon...
Remember, it's all about doing our part to spread the "gospel of peace."
ARE YOU READY??!!!
