If you're ever feeling too good about yourself, play golf. Golf exposes every, and I do mean every, mistake and weakness. I certainly don't play enough to be good...not by anyone's definition. But Saturday, I was beyond "not good;" I was bad. I must say, however, that I had a great time playing with Vernon and Jeremy. And, every six or eight holes, I just happened to hit a decent shot!
It was good to preach again yesterday, but - so much more that preaching - it was even better just to be at Gateway. I'm serious when I say this.... Every Sunday morning, I'm just glad to be part of the experience. The music, the lights, Rocketown, and most of all our great volunteers help to make each Sunday something special.
I want to give kudos to two of my friends in Iraq. Both Zach Kuns and Nathan Iseminger are part of the Life Group that meets in our home. Both have been deployed to the desert. Guys, if you're reading this, know that we're praying for you and looking forward to seeing you both later on this year. Zach sent me a picture of his construction helmet. Let's just say that Jeff Gordon will be proud!
Happy Memorial Day!
