it's 11:38am...

So it's Friday morning...
it's 11:38am...
and I'm still sitting in my bed on my computer.

Now, please don't assume that this is my life every morning, it so happens that I do not have a temp job today (please keep an eye open for my upcoming manifest "nobody's just a temp") and I am not quite at the point yet where I feel disgusting for still being in bed.

I'm pretty sure I'm fighting off some sort of sickness, or it could be all in my mind to give some sort of credence for staying in bed until noon.

I've been thinking about the band a lot, our current life, and how it will inevitably change. We've been on the road a couple of times this fall, short stints really, but it's strange to come home inbetween those times. I'm having a hard time reconciling my feelings of loving to travel and loving the comforts of my own bed. I suppose we'll all get better at it, because this is what you sign up for when you realize you cannot do anything else but play music. That's almost the hardest part of being on the road and then coming back...I need to play everyday...and not just at home for myself. When we get back it's nice for the first day or two, but then I almost don't know what to do with myself.

This week I've spent a lot of time reading about other musicians...John Vanderslice, whom I discovered from an interview wtih Chris Walla (death cab), which I found from a video blog by Tegan and Sara...who if you didn't know before you know now if you're TV has been on any channel in the last week.

I saw the movie ONCE the other week...amazing. I forgot about that kind of music, and I don't mean that as an insult to other music, but I haven't gotten that feeling from songs since I first heard Videotape by Thom Yorke. You know, when a melody clutches your chest, and a voice stirs your soul...inspiring.

I've attempted to write a handful of new songs the past coulpe of weeks. I think I like a couple of them, none of them are finished, so there's that.

I'm excited to play these new tunes live, as a band. So if you're in the Colorado area be sure to check out one of our November shows at The Aggie, The Gothic, or The Fox.

cheers
tifah
