THE BELL - Badman says:
Every so often a band comes around that brings you back to the time when music truly acted as a soundtrack to your life. Do you recall the effect bands like Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure and The Chameleons had on you a few decades back? The Bell bring us back to that feeling of the good early Alternative days of our lives. Based in Stockholm/Malmö Sweden, The Bell are a three piece with a penchant for memorable melodies and drum machine driven, classic, alternative songs. We'll bet you a pint of Guiness that their songs will be stuck in your head after just one listen. Vocals and instruments are shared by the trio of Nicklas Nilsson, Mathias Stromberg and Jan Petterson. They also co-wrote and recorded the album together.
Short Reviews
"The first time I listened to The Bell's 80s inspired alternative pop i jumped in my chair. This is great indie pop, not so unlike the sound of the swedes in The Mary Onettes." - Eardrums
"YAY for Sweden! Just when i thought you'd left me or gone into hibernation, you come back with a little bit of musical love for me. The Bell is a soothing breath of fresh air in the bloghouse world. 'I Am History' is the first single off the LP and sounds like an upbeat Interpol song b/c of the echoing, melodic guitars and he has that powerful, brooding voice like Paul's (of Interpol)." - BigStereo
NPR Song of the Day - "I Am History."
