It was early in the century when The Darned first crossed guitars. Weighing almost 800 lbs and stretching about 24 ft end-to-end, their lineage includes bands such as Seersucker, Temper, The Minstrels and Zuul's Evil Disco. With a saucy jambalaya of Jewish funk, Mennonite soul and plenty of "je ne Quebequois", this Toronto-based band of lovers, artists, musicans and fools have been making the odd appearance in the company of actors, visual artists, and puppets, but have mostly concentrated on growing songs in their musical hothouse - some of which appear on their debut disc "Somedays".
