Today my boyfriend and I went a hung about 80 AVON brochures on peoples doors and gave one to a guy (lol). I’m really trying to get more customers so I have been hanging brochures and leaving brochures at businesses.

Speaking of leaving books at businesses, I always ask before I leave brochures at places. I’ve seen a few documents saying “Just leave, don’t ask!” I’m not comfortable with that at all. I much rather ask because if you don’t you are more then likely wasting your money on books because they will probably be thrown away before potential customers even see them. So always ask before you leave books at businesses. That’s just my 2 cents.

1. For goodness face (part of the MARK line) – I have been using this stuff for a while and love it. It makes my face so soft and smooth. You only need a little bit. Also it has an SPF of 30 which is perfect.
2. Talk To The Hand Fragrance-Free Hand Cream (another MARK product) – This is great for people who get really dry hands. It’s thick when you put it on but it rubs in nicely and it’s not oily. You don’t need a whole lot of this so start with a tiny bit. It keeps my hands from getting dry.
3. Foot Works – I have the berry mint and love the way it smells! It’s something I use in between pedicures to keep my feet looking nice.  Who wants ugly feet? Not me!
4. Glimmer sticks – I love the eyeliner the best. It goes on smooth and looks great! I want to try the lip pencils next.

I’m in my 4th campaign with AVON and I’m not doing that good. I wont get into details but with the economy they way it is it kind of sucks. I know success does not start over night but I have tried just about everything suggested and it has not helped me get more customers. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy with the ones I have but I want more. I want to be able to make enough money to not have to work a “9 to 5″ job. Joining AVON was my “something new” Job, I guess I needed a change of scenery.

This next campaign which will be campaign 23 I’m stepping up my game. I order 100+ brochures and I’m going to hang books on people’s doors and hand books to people face to face. I might also go to a few business that I didn’t hit before and ask them if I can leave books or business cards with them. I’m still determined to make this work. Wish me luck!

If you are an AVON rep or any rep for that matter (Tupperware, Mary Kay…etc) you should check out this forum and their boutique for all of your rep needs. The forum has tons of information on it which includes templates for everything from letters to stuff for cards, labels..etc. The people on the forum are friendly and helpful. It’s a great atmosphere.

I bought a tote from the boutique. It’s a black tote with pink bows on it for breast cancer awareness. I tried to support that as much as I can. Here is my tote:

I know a lot of people don’t really know when their make up is expired. I did research and found information on a web page and put it in word and thought I would share it with you. I think I may put this in my books just as a reminder to people.

So this past Monday my boyfriend and I decided to go hang books on doors in my neighborhood. This is the first time I have done this and although I was a bit nervous I did it and was fine. I haven’t got any calls yet for orders and I’m not sure anyone will call. I hope though that I at least get one call. I did get one order from a friend online so that made me happy.

For camp 22 I plan on using the tote bag I got from Happy Dance Boutique to show off a brochure and hopefully get some new customers I can follow up with. #4 – mark Mega Volume Root Lifting Spray With Soothing Geranium – I use this every day and love how it gives my hair more volume when using a brush and blow dryer to style.

#3 – The whole Smooth Minerals line – I use to use bare minerals which is very expensive so I decided to try Smooth minerals and I loved it! It’s as good as bare Minerals but for less the price.

#2 – Skin so soft line – I love how it makes my skin nice and soft and it smell nice.

I started selling Avon a few weeks ago and so far I love it. I’m only in my second campaign and already had a few medium sized orders to my online store! It’s exciting when you get those first few orders, It’s kind of like Christmas.

I read somewhere that some Avon reps dislike book dropping and I can see where they are coming from. I know it’s hard to go up to people and talk to them about Avon. I’m shy when it comes to talking to people I don’t know but I went up to some people and asked if they were interested in Avon and you should of saw their face light up! I know not everyone is like that and I will deal with that when it gets thrown at me. For some people it’s easier for them to just put books at people’s door with their info on it. We get a lot of “spam” on our doors around here from different companies. They range from maids to lawn care professionals and it gets annoying to see all these “flyers” on and at our doors. This is why I decided to get out there and talk to people instead of laying a book at doors and walking away.

So my advice to other new reps, step out of your comfort zone and talk to people and hand your catalogs out. The worse they can say is “No”. Don’t let it discourage you though because there are a lot of people who love Avon and are looking for a rep or there are some that don’t know anything about Avon and will end up being your most loyal customer. Also make sure to get names and numbers from people you hand you catalogs to and follow up!

Make sure after getting your new customers name, email address and phone number that you give them a call before your campaign ends. I don’t know how many times people will mark stuff they want and forget to call you. Just call and ask if there is anything they want to order before the recent campaign ends. Most fo the time you will get an order because they laid it on a table forgot about it. So always call!
