The Hardy Tree

These first few Hardy Tree recordings were inspired by my local London neighbourhood, both past and present. From early field covered hills to its Victorian hay day, and 20th century sprawl. Imagined music for then and now. The sound of creaking piano's playing in parlours, echoing over transistor radios, bird song and traffic. Music for the all people that used to walk these same streets, and inhabit these houses.

A CD called 'The Fields Lie Sleeping Underneath' will be available later in the year.

A little be about me:
The Hardy Tree is the brand new project from Frances Castle, who previously recorded under the name Transistor Six. Transistor Six released a 7" single on the Spanish 'Elefant' label and two singles and a CD on the Californian 'Black Bean and Placenta' label, and was played by John Peel.
