A TUDZ tale ...
Once upon a time in the year 2004, two next-door neighbors, gathered around a drink were talking about music ... they talked hard, but one had the voice focused much further. So far as the whole area intended to echo the vibrant desire to share rhythms, melodies, stories and emotions.
It's a kind of Christmas story as a beginning, I grant you, but it may be that as it all began for LatitudZ. Others say that during a famous birthday party (which will last several days) or local musicians took turns behind the instruments that never stops the music. And some say that it is during one summer, after a few jams in bars on the seafront that the group sealed its cohesion ... the truth is often multiple : many heads, as many votes ... you choose your own player.
What is certain, is that it is a matter of friendship, and envy of the four members that gives the sparkle to start. Helped by a team of motivated people, the true first concert in a well-known local concert-hall. November 2005, Starting blocks.
Then, after having warmed the stage with many artists, and having shared it during open mic's sessions, the TUDZ focused on their own sound, linking rehearsals with live performances and various homemade mix tapes.
December 2007, the maxi 9 tracked CD "A Will, a drill, and a Goldmine" was born. Proud little album or high quality demo, it would seem that even the LatitudZ were amazed by the quality of the disc ... ears and some had the air of well hung. Such a material and a motivated team allowed the music to be heard, to do some live shows, and keep a good mood surrounding the project.
Then the LatitudZ were supervised by a professional network, watching their quick evolution, and initiating a process of consolidation of concrete foundations. The weeks and seasons passed. Concerts, competitions, jumps, successes, but also fail sometimes succeeded. The road is narrow.
However, some signs are good : the TUDZ won the "Grand Zebrock", they were selected and played at "le Printemps de Bourges", then the LatitudZ played at the "Rock en Seine" 2008 festival ... it seems that it's fun to be backstage with Questlove, Tricky, or Michael Stipe.
Now we hear the bouncy Bumpy rhythm on the radio, and great things are to come ...
Proof that with an incredible tour through the South East Africa and Indian Ocean during the month of June 2009.
It happens to be my thing as they say ...
