With heavy heart and heavier, albeit tightly-waistcoated girth, I have risen from my dusty tomes and sallied forth to dabble with the digitally displaced who inhabit the internet. As my batman* prods the keyboard at my command, the thoughts and fears of The Major are apparently, transmitted into the ether where they will be viewed by few, despised by most and cast forever into the electronic equivalent of the River Lethe. Or am I being a tad pessimistic? No, I thought not...

I have been absent rather a lot lately. Somewhat unsociable of me considering that this is a respected outpost of internet society. But I had my reasons. No, really! Read on and do try your very best to sympathise...

Sorry chaps but I need to blog news of my personal inadequacy. Apologies to all for tardiness in replying of late but things have been rather hectic back at Major Manor and I have scarce had time to tinker with the internet. My confusion is such that I have …

As a comparitive newcomer in the field of online communication I find myself somewhat bemused by the concept of 'networking'. I am quite familiar with the term 'network of spies' but as there are very few men in dark glasses and homburg hats in evidence nowadays, I …

Vivian Circle , Sep 10, 2007:
Hello Sir, Sorry for the lack in communiqué. We've been moving through underground away from most of the aggravating violence, and imagine me wanting a break from the all the fighting. lol. As a storm moves through the area I thought i would fire off a quick communiqué until the band and I go back to our bunker and make our next move. Currently we've manage to extort three controversial pieces under the airwaves of the establishment, but they are drawing ever close we fear. The sounds of the war dirigibles hum and shake the walls of the bunker, the ringing that tickles the inside of your head, like a trapped insect in your head. We shake, but commit ourselves to moving onward for the cause, for the good of it all. We bid you farewell Sir. until we surface with our new faces firmly set, this is but a taste of the food instore.

I believe we haven't met previously, but I am informed by jo that we are in the minority of all people here, afflicted with pedantry concerning the English language.
It is a curse and a terrible burden to bear but keep up the efforts - we will prevail!
The decent American, Jun 17, 2007:
Good Day sir!.......Hope alls well in your world.......
Scott McKane, Jun 10, 2007:
My dear Major, it is so good to see you fully functional again. Have no fear of any ill will felt by your colonial cousins. If we can forgive taxation without representation, tyranny from across the sea, and a friendly little skirmish, surely a slight little computer mishap can be overlooked. Feel free to have a crumpet , my compliments.
