the purple door festival is a great festival, and holds a dear place in our hearts. our very first "gig" as a band was at that festival in the year 2002...ah how time flies. i remember being 19 and scared out of my mind, not only was it the mint's first show, but it was my first time playing somewhere outside of church. i remember thinking, very very, very foolishly that this 10:00am set time would somehow magically catapult us into the stratosphere of rock and roll stardom...
oh young jon, i want to help you, but tragically...i cannot.
all of this to say we will be back this year, and we have the same fuzzy feelings. a bit more mature, road tested, and well aware that the fate of your future really doesnt rest on the shoulders of one gig.
i encourage all who read to check out the fest this year, there is sure to be some wonderful bands and artists.
