Howdy all!
{"I'd look out fer kii-yotes if I wer yer!"}
Yup.
So.
I wanted to give you all a juicy update on the forthcoming record. We have a release date, but I can't give it to you yet cuz it's not set in stone. Think October. Glowering Pumpkins. Dead leaves swirling around like deciduous bats made of chocolate and laughter.
However: I can give you a dram of info pertaining to why it's taking so dern long! You see, we have to do it right! And we are! We've spent a year and a half creating this record betwixt all our maddening tours... so (it follows that) "With Arrows, With Poise" is due it's rightful, exquisite mixing and mastering: ie: EUROPE!
We're mixing said record in Berlin, Germany (be still my heart).
Michael Ilbert is the man who will try his hand at our tricky record. He mixes at a room in Hansa Studios (where U2's Achtung Baby and David Bowie's Heroes album were birth'ed). He is most famous for mixing the Cardigans' award winning album "Long Gone Before Daylight" and The Hives.
We're mastering said record with a Mr. Adam Nunn (who mastered the vinyl version of Radiohead's Hail to the thief/I Might Be Wrong (live recordings), Johnny Greenwood's Bodysong, Air, Franz Ferdinand, George Martin, Kyle Minogue, Mogwai, Richard Ashcroft, Supergrass, Yoko Ono)at Abbey Road Studios in London. Quite! {http://www.abbeyroad.co.uk/mastering/engineer4.php}
Stoked.
We're stoked.
"With Arrows, With Poise": our little foundling child, deserves nothing less for all its cold winters, cold porridge, and cold mittens. "Come... sit by the delicious hearth, freezing child..." (that smacks of belle and sebastion ever so slightly!)
Gramercy!
