We implore you all (RIGHT THE HECK NOW) to visit SMASHING PUMPKINS myspace profile (www.myspace.com/smashingpumpkins) and scroll on down to their top friends: ...and there you will find us, The Myriad: veritable Seattlites kickin' it Chicago style with Billy, Jimmy, and a few other windy city cowboys.
Right above it you'll find our glorious (if we do say so ourselves) cover version of the song "Perfect" off Adore (circa 1998) available for your astute listening pleasure; an exquisite, timeless record; which immediately makes me think of the lyrics from "For Martha": "long horses we are born.... creatures more than torn... mourning our way home" --- I remember copying those lyrics from my beleagured brain onto my converse one-stars in college with a Bic pen flowing with copious, chunky blue ink. It was a dreary class: History of Music, methinks, but unfortunately taught by a teacher who didn't care much for music or history. Sad. That was also circa 1998, but fall rather than summer.
Good times. Good records.
So gallop on over there and take a listen, glockenspeil and wicked fuzz bass await you! Boo!
AND PICK UP THE PUMPKINS SPANKIN' NEW RECORD: ZEITGEIST! DANGITALL!
